Trainers
Yujing Zhang is a highly qualified trainer and assessor at InterCare with a strong background in healthcare education. With over 14 years of experience as a nursing lecturer and associate nursing director, Yujing brings a unique perspective to her teaching. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing (Chinese Medical Nursing) and a second Master’s in Nursing (Primary Health Care) from Flinders University, where she also earned a Graduate Diploma in Research Methods. Yujing is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing, specialising in Dementia Care Education. Yujing’s research focuses on developing practical support programs for family carers of people living with dementia.
Her dedication to improving the quality of life for individuals with dementia is evident in her teaching style, which is tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of her students. Beyond her academic achievements, Yujing has published articles, authored textbooks, and collaborated on research projects, and was even recognised for her teaching excellence in 2017.
Kanika Arora combines her expertise as a mathematics educator with her passion for training and assessment to create a unique and engaging learning experience. With four years of experience in the field, Kanika is skilled at designing and delivering impactful training programs tailored to meet industry standards and individual learner needs.
From dementia care to first aid and CPR, Kanika’s expertise is wide-ranging. She has successfully designed and implemented comprehensive training programs for college students on compliance regulations and audit procedures, earning recognition for her outstanding contributions to training.
Kanika creates a welcoming atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts.
Cath Rodwell brings a wealth of experience to the aged care and disability care industry. With over 20 years of teaching at InterCare Training, she has a proven track record of nurturing students’ psychological, social, and emotional well-being. Prior to her work at InterCare, Cath spent eight years managing day respite centres and in-home programs at Uniting Care. This experience instilled in her a deep understanding of client needs and the importance of high-quality care.
Cath holds a range of qualifications, including certificates in Training and Assessment, Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), Ageing Support, and Disability. Her expertise extends beyond technical skills, encompassing the psychological, social, and emotional well-being of her students. She fosters a supportive learning environment that promotes independence and a passion for dementia care and positive behaviour support.
Bridgette Armstrong is a seasoned trainer and assessor with a focus on the Certificate III in Individual Support. With over two decades of experience in the field, she equips students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to excel as support workers. Bridgette’s teaching approach emphasises hands-on learning, fostering a supportive and engaging environment where students can practise with equipment and participate in group activities.
Bridgette’s qualifications include a Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate III in Individual Support, and a Diploma in Community Services. She has a deep understanding of the diverse needs individuals face, having worked as a support worker, house manager, and within both supported accommodation and community services. Bridgette fosters a team environment where students learn from each other and collaborate effectively, and believes laughter and positive experiences are valuable learning tools for success.
