Work Placement Allocations:

Student placement will be organised on behalf of the Student by InterCare Training. The Student will be allocated placement within 1-hour radius of the course location (public transport is not taken into consideration within this timing). Student placement is non negotiable and must be completed within a 3 week period Monday to Friday. No weekend work is required.

First Aid

The student must hold a current valid Level II in First Aid to commence their work placement.

Issuing of Certificates

We will issue certificates within 30 days once a student has handed in all units/modules, completed their 3 week work placement, completed the Level II First Aid and marked competent.

Police Check

A clear and current police check is required from every student to complete the work placement component of their course. All students completing a qualification must have a clear and current police check by week 7 of their course to receive their work placement allocation. Failure to do so may result in your placement being cancelled or postponed.

This can be organised via the InterCare/NCC Police check Service.

Working with Children Check | Blue Card

Working with Children Check

The Working with Children Check is a screening process for assessing or re-assessing people who work with or care for children, this also includes those working or completing work placement with a Disability or Community Services provider.

This means that all Students must provide a Working with Children Check document prior to commencement of their work placement event and preferred no later than the fourth week of the course.

Failure to provide the Working with Children Check may result in the student being withdrawn from the course.  Students can be re-booked into a subsequent course once the Working with Children Check has been satisfied/submitted.

QLD students – BLUE CARD requirement

Students may be required to obtain a Blue Card (QLD only) for the purpose of work placement. If this is required you will be advised by ICT to apply for a volunteer/ student blue card. The work placement team will guide you through the process of applying and linking your card to your placement facility, so that your blue card can be issued.  It is the responsibility of the student to ensure the blue Card is applied for and received prior to commencement of your work placement dates.
